The 2008 Ford F-350 Super Duty has 3 recalls, the most serious being a fuel tank that can rupture in certain crashes and leak fuel near ignition sources, creating a fire risk — this affects 156-inch wheelbase 4x4 models with a two-piece driveshaft. The factory-installed Continental ContiTrac tires on certain vehicles can develop uneven wear or vibration, and under conditions of overloading or low inflation in high heat, the tread can separate from the belt, creating a sudden loss of traction. On the interior side, vehicles equipped with an adjustable lumbar support and a split bench or captain's chair bucket seat may have welds at the seat back pivot bracket that can crack while driving, causing the seat back to recline without warning.
