A fuel system recall affects certain short-wheelbase crew cab models with dual rear wheels: the fuel filler pipe may lack proper grounding, which can allow an electrostatic discharge during refueling and start a fire. On the safety equipment side, the front seat belt buckles on both driver and passenger sides may not fully latch, so the belts may not restrain occupants properly in a crash. There is also a concern with the driver airbag: a weld near the igniter inside the inflator canister may be insufficient, which can cause the airbag to fail to deploy in a crash or, in some cases, cause a burn injury.
