The 2019 Ford F-450 has 4 recalls, the most serious being a fire risk tied to the optional engine block heater, where corrosion in the cable's splice connector can cause wiring to overheat and ignite when the heater is plugged in.
The front seat recliner mechanism on certain trucks may have been assembled incorrectly, leaving the seat back with reduced strength that can fail to hold an occupant in a crash. Two recalls affect vehicles that have been converted or upfitted by outside manufacturers: a backup camera display can revert to factory defaults and flip the image, causing the driver to steer the wrong way while reversing, and combination LED stop, tail, and turn lights may exceed legal brightness limits and temporarily blind drivers behind the vehicle.
