The 2019 Ford F-450 has 4 recalls, the most serious being a block heater cable that can corrode at its splice connector and overheat when plugged in, raising the risk of a fire in the engine compartment.
The front seat recall is worth attention as well: trucks with manual front seat recliner mechanisms may have been assembled incorrectly, leaving the seat back without full structural strength. In a crash, that seat back can fail to hold the occupant properly, increasing the chance of injury. On the visibility side, certain vehicles built by LGE Coachworks and equipped with ASA Electronics backup camera displays can revert to factory default settings without warning, which causes the camera image to appear mirrored. A driver relying on that reversed image may steer the wrong direction when backing up. There is also a lighting concern on Life Line Emergency Vehicles conversions: combination LED stop, tail, turn, and reverse lights can exceed the maximum permitted brightness, producing glare that can impair the vision of drivers behind the vehicle.
