The 2009 Ford F-550 SD has 3 recalls, the most serious being a fire risk on trucks modified with certain Muncie Power Products power take-off assemblies, where oil leaking from a pressure switch can soak into the thermal blanket covering the exhaust and ignite.

Note that both fire-related recalls affect only trucks that were modified by specific upfitters after leaving the factory, and both involve the same oil leak and exhaust ignition risk. There is also a recall affecting vehicles that Farber Specialty Vehicles modified with certain Ricon Corporation wheelchair lifts: a side plate on the lift platform can crack, causing the platform to detach and come to rest against the lift door opening.
