The 2010 Ford F-550 SD has 5 recalls, the most serious being a fire risk affecting trucks that were upfitted with certain power take-off assemblies, where oil can leak from the PTO pressure switch onto a heat-insulating blanket wrapped around the exhaust and ignite.
This fire risk appears across four separate recalls filed by different upfitting companies, all involving the same Muncie Power Products PTO assemblies installed on modified versions of this truck. If your vehicle was modified by Dual-Tech, Utility Truck Equipment, J&J Truck Equipment, or Tactical Vehicle Outfitters and carries one of these PTO assemblies, it may fall under one of those recalls. The fifth recall affects vehicles modified by Farber Specialty Vehicles and equipped with certain Ricon wheelchair lifts, where a side plate on the lift platform can crack and cause the platform to break away from the lift and drop against the door opening.
