What can fail
A battery isolator cable may be installed backwards, pressing its connector against the isolator's cooling fins. This contact can cause an electrical short that overheats the cables.
What the fix does
Dealers will inspect and reposition cables so connectors face away from the isolator, then add a grounding strap to the aluminum box.
