The 2021 Ford F-650 has 4 recalls, the most serious being two separate fire risks: a high-pressure fuel pump that can fail and cut drive power, and a transmission cooler line that can rub against the air conditioning compressor pulley and leak fluid onto hot engine components.
Both fire-related issues are engine-specific: the fuel pump concern affects diesel-powered trucks, while the transmission cooler line applies only to trucks with the 7.3L gas engine. There is also a separate fuel leak on diesel models where a small void in the underhood secondary fuel filter cap can develop into a pinhole over time, allowing fuel to drip from the top of the filter near potential ignition sources. On the structural side, also limited to 7.3L gas engine trucks, certain underbody heat shields and other protective components may be missing, allowing the cabin floor and seat attachment bolts to become hot enough during driving to cause burns if touched.
