The 2018 Ford F-750 SD has 3 recalls, the most serious being a gear shift cable clip that can come loose and cause the transmission to show "Park" on the shifter while the truck is actually in another gear, creating a rollaway risk.
The brake system has two separate concerns. Brake line fittings on certain trucks may lack proper corrosion protection, which can cause them to corrode and leak brake fluid over time. As fluid is lost, braking force decreases and stopping distances grow. On the parking brake side, the cable may not have been adjusted correctly at the factory, meaning the brake may not hold the truck in place when parked. This is particularly concerning because the transmission gear indicator issue and the parking brake issue can interact: if the truck appears to be in Park but is not, and the parking brake also fails to hold, the vehicle can roll freely.
