The 2014 Ford Fiesta has 8 recalls, the most serious involving fuel system fire risks: the fuel tank can leak from its seam, and on Fiesta ST models with the 1.6L turbocharged engine, an overheating cylinder head can crack and leak oil onto hot exhaust components.
Both fuel-related issues can result in a fire if a leak reaches an ignition source. The remaining four recalls all involve door latches that can fail to hold a door securely closed, allowing it to swing open while the vehicle is moving. These cover a few different scenarios: a latch component that breaks and leaves a door appearing closed when it is not, a climate-related concern affecting vehicles registered in warm and humid states and territories, and a broader latch issue. One of these recalls applies specifically to vehicles that were previously repaired under earlier latch recalls, where the prior repair did not fully resolve the problem.
