The 2012 Ford Fiesta has 4 recalls, the most serious being a side curtain airbag that fails to deploy on the passenger side during a side impact when the front passenger seat is empty, leaving rear-seat passengers without protection.
Two recalls involve door latches that can fail to hold securely, allowing a door to swing open while the vehicle is moving. One of these covers vehicles where a prior repair attempt may not have been completed properly, so owners who had the latch work done previously may still be affected. There is also an electrical concern: water and road debris can get into the battery junction box, corroding components inside and causing the low-beam headlights and daytime running lights to cut out while driving, reducing visibility for the driver and other road users.
