The 2011 Ford Fiesta has 6 recalls, the most serious being a corrosion risk in the battery junction box on vehicles driven in provinces where road salt is used, which can damage fuse and wiring terminals and cause electrical failures.
Three recalls share the same underlying problem: door latches that can fail to hold a door closed while driving. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue for some vehicles, so owners who had earlier latch work done may still be affected. On the airbag side, the right-side curtain airbag and the front passenger seat-mounted side airbag can both be switched off by the passenger seat sensor when the front seat is empty, leaving a rear-seat passenger on that side without airbag coverage in a side-impact crash. This issue was filed in multiple campaigns but describes the same defect.
