At a glance
What can fail
The bond between inner and outer hood panels can tear during minor front-end collisions, creating a gap at the hood's leading edge. Air pressure between the panels can then force the outer panel upward.
What the fix does
Dealers will inspect the hood's leading edge for damage and bond separation. If separated, the hood will be replaced. If not separated, additional adhesive will be applied between the panels.
