The 2010 Ford Mustang has 7 recalls, the most serious being a Takata airbag defect affecting both the driver and passenger frontal airbag inflators, which can rupture in a crash and send metal fragments into the cabin, causing serious injury or death.
Both the driver and passenger side inflators are affected. The driver-side inflator can take on moisture over time, which makes it prone to rupturing when the airbag deploys. The passenger-side inflator carries the same rupture risk. These recalls have been filed across multiple campaigns, but they describe the same underlying hazard. On Shelby GT500 models, there is also a label on the driver's side B-pillar that may show incorrect rear tire size information.
