The 2023 Ford Mustang has 6 recalls, the most serious being a transmission park gear defect that can allow the vehicle to roll away even when the shifter shows "Park," and a steering system fault that can cause the wheel to turn against the driver's intentions.
The steering issue has affected some vehicles where an earlier repair attempt did not fully resolve the problem, so prior service does not guarantee the defect is corrected. On the brake warning side, a faulty brake fluid level sensor may fail to light the low-fluid warning on the dashboard, meaning a driver could continue driving with reduced braking ability without knowing it. As with the steering recall, some vehicles that received an earlier repair for this brake warning fault were not fully fixed and remain affected. There is also a software issue where the rearview camera can display a blank image when reversing, reducing the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle.
