The 2025 Ford Mustang has 5 recalls, the most serious involving the transmission, which can fail to engage reverse or move forward unexpectedly while in reverse or neutral, creating a crash risk.
A separate drivetrain concern involves the exhaust gas recirculation valve, which can fail and cause a sudden loss of drive power while the vehicle is in motion. Three recalls involve lighting and visibility. A burnt diode inside the LED driver module can knock out the low-beam and high-beam headlights, daytime running lights, front position lights, and front turn signals on one side of the car simultaneously, leaving other drivers and pedestrians with reduced warning of the vehicle's presence. Water can also seep into the body control module and cut communication with the tail lights, side marker lights, and license plate light, making the car harder to see from behind at night or in poor weather. On top of that, in cold temperatures the windshield wipers can get stuck running at full speed only, and the washer fluid system may stop working entirely, leaving the driver unable to clear a dirty or iced windshield at a controlled speed.
