The 2025 Ford Mustang has 4 recalls, the most serious being a transmission defect that can cause reverse gear to fail entirely or the vehicle to move forward unexpectedly when shifted into reverse or neutral.
A separate engine concern involves the exhaust gas recirculation valve, which can fail and cause a sudden loss of drive power while the vehicle is in motion. Two recalls affect exterior lighting: a burnt diode inside the LED driver module can knock out the low-beam headlights, high-beam headlights, daytime running lights, and front turn signals on one side of the car, and water can get into the body control module and cut communication to the license plate light, side markers, and tail lights, making the vehicle harder for other drivers to see.
