The 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility has 4 recalls, the most serious being engine connecting rod bearing wear on vehicles with the 3.3L gas or hybrid engine that can cause sudden power loss or an engine fire, either of which raises the risk of a crash.
The second recall involves second-row outboard seatbelt anchor bolts that may be loose or missing, allowing the belt to pull free in a crash and leave the occupant unrestrained. On the visibility side, a small number of vehicles may have had the windshield washer reservoir filled with brake fluid instead of washer fluid, which can damage the wiper and washer system and leave the windshield difficult to clear. Vehicles equipped with the 12.1-inch integrated computer screen have a separate visibility concern: the screen may not turn on automatically when shifted into reverse, meaning the rearview camera image may not appear when backing up.
