What can fail
On certain pickup trucks with a 6.6L diesel engine and dual fuel tanks, the fuel transfer pump may fail and stop moving fuel from the rear tank to the front tank. This causes inaccurate fuel gauge readings and can leave the front tank empty while fuel sits unused in the rear tank, potentially causing engine stalling.
What the fix does
The dealer will replace the fuel transfer pump to restore proper fuel transfer between the two tanks.
