A second brake concern involves a faulty spring clip inside the ABS motor that can shift out of position over time, drawing excess current and eventually shutting the ABS down entirely, disabling both the anti-lock system and the rear brake proportioning function. On the labeling side, two recalls address the same problem: the vehicle certification label on certain trucks overstates the maximum payload capacity. If a driver loads the truck to that incorrect figure, the vehicle may handle unpredictably and take longer to stop than expected.
