1994 GMC Suburban

The 1994 GMC Suburban has 3 recalls, the most serious being a wiper controller that can fail without warning, leaving the driver unable to clear the windshield in rain or snow.

The wiper failure stems from cracked solder joints on the controller circuit board; this recall does not apply to vehicles already addressed under a separate prior campaign. On the brake lighting side, the brake light switch wiring was installed with reversed polarity, which causes the switch contacts to wear out ahead of schedule and stop illuminating the brake lights, meaning a following driver gets no warning that the vehicle is slowing. There is also a driveability concern for vehicles equipped with the 6.5L diesel engine, which can exhibit poor throttle response, rough starting, misfires, or stalling.
