The 2018 GMC Yukon XL has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the four-wheel drive transfer case, where a fault can cause front or rear wheels to lock up unexpectedly and raise the risk of a crash.
The remaining two recalls both involve rear seatbelt retractors and describe the same underlying issue: the automatic-locking retractors on second- or third-row seatbelts may not switch to a locked position when the belt is fully pulled out. This means a child safety seat secured using that belt may not be held firmly in place, leaving it inadequately restrained in a crash.
