1997 HONDA ACCORD Recalls — Canada & USA

The 1997 Honda Accord has 3 recalls, the most serious being an ignition switch defect where internal electrical contacts wear out and can cause the engine to stall without warning while driving, raising the risk of a crash. The front lower ball joints on certain vehicles can also wear prematurely and, in the worst case, separate entirely, causing the front suspension to collapse. If that happens, the vehicle loses power and decelerates suddenly, and steering control is significantly reduced.
