The 2024 Honda CBR650R has 3 recalls, the most serious being a gear shift arm fastener that can loosen and fall off, leaving the rider unable to change gears while in traffic.
The wiring system accounts for the other two recalls, and both point to the same outcome: turn signals, brake lights, the horn, the speedometer, and tail lights can all stop working at once. In one case, engine vibration wears through the turn signal switch wire harness until it shorts out and blows a fuse, knocking out all of those functions together. In the other, the same wire harness can be routed too close to the cowl stay bracket, where contact with the bracket cuts into the wiring over time and causes the same cluster of lights and instruments to go dark. Other drivers lose the ability to tell when the motorcycle is slowing or turning, which raises the risk of a rear-end collision.
