The 2007 Honda Fit has 13 recalls, the most serious being front airbag inflators on both the driver and passenger sides that can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, posing a risk of serious injury or death.
A separate airbag concern involves a passenger-side unit that may have been installed incorrectly during a prior replacement and could deploy improperly in a crash. There is also a passenger seat sensor wire harness routed under the driver's side floor carpet that can be exposed to road salt carried in on wet shoes, potentially corroding the wiring and affecting how the system detects occupants.
On the drivetrain side, the front axle shafts can corrode and break, cutting power to the wheels and, if the parking brake is not set, allowing the vehicle to roll away. The power window master switch on the driver's door is the subject of multiple recalls: water can reach the switch and cause it to overheat, leading to smoke, melting, or fire. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve this issue, and later campaigns addressed the same underlying problem. Rounding out the list, a wiring harness routed too tightly during assembly can cause the low-beam headlights to stop working, reducing visibility at night.
