The 2007 Honda GL1800 has 5 recalls, the most serious being a Takata airbag inflator that can rupture and send metal fragments into the rider, a risk that applies to motorcycles registered in high-humidity states and territories.
The airbag concern spans two related issues: the rupture risk from a degraded inflator, and a separate defect where long-term heat and humidity exposure can cause the airbag to deploy with more force than intended. Both affect the rider directly. On the braking side, the combined braking system's secondary master cylinder can cause the rear brake to drag after the brakes are released. Riding with a dragging rear brake builds heat over time and can cause the brake to catch fire, and the unexpected braking force also raises the risk of a crash.
