The 2000 Honda Odyssey has 6 recalls, the most serious being a sliding door latch that can fail to hold and allow the door to swing open while the vehicle is moving, and a driver airbag inflator that can rupture in a crash and send metal fragments into the cabin.
The airbag concern applies to vehicles that received a replacement driver airbag module as part of a prior repair, and prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue across multiple service campaigns. On the structural side, some front body frames are missing spot welds, which can reduce the protection the structure provides to occupants in a collision. The electrical system also has two concerns: a wire harness in the engine compartment can chafe against a metal pipe and blow a fuse, potentially cutting power to the engine, headlights, windshield wipers, horn, or the anti-lock brake function. Separately from that, the instrument panel dimmer control can fail, leaving the driver unable to read gauges or displays at night.
