The steering issue stems from a gear box assembly that was not properly tightened at the factory, allowing water to work its way inside and corrode the internal gears until they bind. On the airbag side, a faulty front passenger occupancy sensor can misclassify who is sitting in the seat, leading to airbag deployment that does not match the situation and raising the risk of injury to that occupant.
On the fuel system side, the fuel pump can fail without warning, cutting engine power while the vehicle is moving. This recall covers a wide range of Honda models across many years, and the Odyssey is among the affected vehicles. A separate concern applies only to Odysseys equipped with QRT-Deluxe or QRT-Max wheelchair restraint systems: the retractors in those systems may not lock properly, leaving a wheelchair free to shift during transit and potentially injure the occupant.
The least severe recall involves the rearview camera, where a faulty connector in the display cable can cause the camera image to fail to appear on the screen when reversing, reducing the driver's ability to see what is behind the vehicle.
