The 2023 Honda Odyssey has 5 recalls, the most serious involving a passenger seat occupant sensor that can misread the seat and deploy the front passenger airbag unexpectedly in a crash, and a steering gear that can corrode internally and cause loss of steering control.
On the steering issue, an improperly sealed gear box allows water in, which corrodes the gears and can cause them to bind. There is also a wheelchair restraint concern on Odysseys equipped with QRT-Deluxe or QRT-Max mobility equipment: the retractors may not lock properly, leaving the wheelchair free to shift during transit. The fuel pump on certain vehicles can fail without warning, stalling the engine while driving. Finally, a faulty connector in the display system can prevent the rearview camera image from appearing when backing up.
