The 2023 Honda Ridgeline has 6 recalls, the most serious being a steering defect where an inner joint can detach from the steering rack, causing complete loss of steering control.
Two other recalls carry the same severity level. In rust-prone states, rear control arms and other rear suspension components can corrode and fail, reducing handling and the ability to control the vehicle. On the brake side, a tie rod fastener connecting the brake booster and master cylinder can come loose, allowing the master cylinder to separate and causing a loss of braking. There is also a front passenger airbag concern: the passenger seat sensor can misread occupant status, causing the airbag to deploy incorrectly in a crash. Rounding out the list, the rearview camera's tailgate wiring harness can fatigue and break over time, leaving the backup camera with no image displayed.
