The 2015 Hyundai Accent has 3 recalls, the most serious being an ABS control module defect that can cause an engine compartment fire while the vehicle is parked or being driven.
The remaining two recalls both address the same underlying issue with the front passenger seat's occupant detection system. In cold temperatures, the system can fail to recognize that a child safety seat is installed in the front passenger seat, leaving the front airbag active when it should be suppressed. If the airbag deploys in a crash under those conditions, it can strike the child restraint and injure the child. A lit airbag warning light on the dashboard may also accompany this condition.
