The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport has 4 recalls, the most serious being an ABS module that can develop an electrical short and start an engine compartment fire, whether the vehicle is parked or in motion.
The hood latch cable can corrode and bind, leaving the secondary latch disengaged even when the hood appears closed. If the primary latch is then released, the hood can fly open while driving and block the driver's view. On the restraint side, the bolt anchoring the driver's seatbelt to the vehicle's inner sill may not have been tightened properly during assembly, which means the belt can pull free from its anchor point in a crash and fail to restrain the driver.
