2010 HYUNDAI TUCSON Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2010 Hyundai Tucson has 6 recalls, the most serious being a fire risk that can occur even while the vehicle is parked: brake fluid can leak into the ABS control module, cause a short circuit, and ignite. Vehicles with the 2.4L engine also have a recall addressing the engine control module's ability to detect early warning signs of engine failure. Without this update, the engine can cut out without warning and not restart, raising the risk of a crash or fire. On the safety equipment side, the passenger seat sensor can misread a heavier adult occupant and trigger the airbag warning light. When that light is on, the front passenger airbag will deploy in a crash regardless of whether a child is seated there, and will not deactivate as it should. There are also two recalls covering the same rear reflector issue: the reflectors on the rear bumper do not meet photometric standards and reduce how visible the back of the vehicle is to other drivers at night.
