The 2022 Hyundai Tucson has 5 recalls, the most serious involving the optional trailer wiring harness, which can allow water into the control module, causing trailer and brake lights to fail or triggering an electrical short that can lead to a fire.
Two other recalls involve lights going dark. A software incompatibility in the central control unit can cause the headlights or taillights to stop working entirely, reducing visibility for the driver and other traffic. On hybrid models, the daytime running lights fail to activate when the Remote Smart Parking Assist feature moves the vehicle, leaving it less visible to nearby pedestrians and drivers. There is also a structural concern: roof molding trim pieces can detach while driving and become a road hazard for vehicles behind.
