2019 HYUNDAI VELOSTER Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2019 Hyundai Veloster has 4 recalls, the most serious being a high-pressure fuel pump failure on N performance trims and a piston oil ring defect on 2.0L engine models, both of which can cause a sudden loss of engine power while driving. The engine oil ring issue also carries a fire risk: defective piston rings cause excess oil consumption and engine wear, producing abnormal noise and triggering the oil pressure warning light, and if ignored, can lead to complete engine failure. Two recalls address the same structural concern, where the driver's door latch and locking cable can be damaged in a side-impact crash, allowing the door to swing open and raising the risk of occupant ejection.
