The 2019 Jaguar I-Pace has 14 recalls, dominated by a high-voltage battery fire risk where the battery can overheat, generate smoke and heat, and potentially ignite — a concern serious enough that prior repair attempts on many vehicles did not fully resolve the issue.
All but two of these recalls trace back to the same underlying battery defect. The battery can overheat internally, damaging itself and nearby components and raising the risk of fire. Multiple rounds of dealer repairs have been issued over time because earlier fixes proved incomplete or were not performed correctly on all vehicles, requiring follow-up repairs for some owners.
The remaining two recalls cover the braking system: if the regenerative braking system fails, the vehicle takes longer than expected to slow down after the driver presses the brake pedal, increasing stopping distances and the risk of a collision.
