2022 Jaguar I-Pace

The 2022 Jaguar I-Pace has 5 recalls, the most serious being a high-voltage battery that can overheat and catch fire — and prior repair attempts for this defect have not fully resolved the issue for all affected vehicles.

The battery fire risk has persisted across multiple repair attempts, with some vehicles that went through an earlier fix still carrying the underlying condition that allows the battery to overheat. On the visibility side, the high-voltage coolant heater can fail to clear the windshield in cold weather, leaving the driver with an obstructed view. There is also a turn signal concern: if a rear turn signal bulb or circuit stops working, the flash rate does not speed up the way it normally would to alert the driver, so a failed signal can go unnoticed and leave other drivers without a clear indication of an intended turn. Finally, when the vehicle is stationary and shifted into reverse, it may not produce enough low-speed pedestrian warning sound to meet federal minimum requirements, reducing the chance that people on foot nearby will hear the vehicle moving.
