The 2022 Jeep Compass has 7 recalls, the most serious involving front seat head restraints that were not properly welded and can move or detach in a crash, raising the risk of injury to front seat occupants.
Two separate visibility issues affect the instrument panel: a software problem in the body control module can prevent the instrument cluster backlight from adjusting or functioning correctly, making it difficult or impossible to see the speedometer, fuel gauge, and warning lights while driving. The rearview camera on certain vehicles can also fail to display an image when reversing, reducing the driver's view behind the vehicle. Prior repair attempts for the instrument panel backlight did not fully resolve the issue, which is why multiple filings exist for that defect. There is also a label recall for Canadian-market vehicles where the airbag warning on the passenger-side sun visor is printed only in English rather than in both English and French as required.
