The 2023 Jeep Compass has two recalls, both tied to visibility: the instrument cluster display may not adjust brightness properly, making the speedometer and warning lights hard to read, and the rearview camera may fail to show an image when backing up.
Both issues stem from software problems rather than hardware failures. The brightness control fault sits in the body control module and can leave the instrument panel too dim to read clearly in varying light conditions. The rearview camera issue affects the radio software and can result in a blank screen when reversing, reducing the driver's ability to see what is behind the vehicle.
