A separate drivetrain concern affects manual transmission models: the clutch pressure plate can overheat and fracture, raising the risk of a fire. On the safety equipment side, the front seatbelt retractor may fail to slow an occupant's forward movement in a crash, reducing the belt's ability to restrain the driver or passenger. There is also a visibility issue where a radio software error can prevent the rearview camera image from appearing while reversing, reducing what the driver can see behind the vehicle.
