The 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee has 3 recalls, all involving electrical or control system faults that can cause the engine to stall while driving or, in one case, allow the vehicle to roll away unexpectedly.
Two of the recalls involve stalling risks from different sources: a faulty front control module can cut engine power without warning and may also disable the windshield wipers, while a separate issue with the ignition key can prevent it from returning fully to the run position after starting, which may trigger an unintended switch in ignition state and kill the engine. The third recall involves the transfer case, where an electrical failure can cause it to drop into neutral on its own, leaving the vehicle without drive power and at risk of rolling if the driver is not prepared.
