The 2008 Jeep Wrangler has 5 recalls, the most serious being a brake tube defect where the front fender liners can wear through the brake lines, causing fluid to leak and reducing braking force at the affected wheel.
Two other recalls cover the passenger frontal airbag inflator module, which can rupture and send fragments into the cabin in a crash. Separately, the driver's side airbag clockspring assembly, which carries the electrical signal that fires the airbag, can develop a broken or contaminated circuit that prevents the driver's frontal airbag from deploying in a crash. This clockspring issue affects right-hand drive vehicles only, and prior repair attempts did not fully resolve it across all affected vehicles.
