The 2018 Land Rover Discovery has 4 recalls, the most serious being a rear door latch defect where the keyless entry system can fail to fully close the rear passenger doors, and a faulty warning light may not alert the driver that the doors are open while driving.
Two recalls involve lighting and driver awareness. The automatic high beam system can switch on high beams without showing any indicator on the dashboard, leaving the driver unaware that oncoming traffic is being blinded. When towing with daytime running lights active, the trailer's brake and turn signal lights may stop working, meaning vehicles behind the trailer cannot see when the driver is slowing or stopping. There is also a concern with automatic emergency braking, which can disable itself silently without alerting the driver, so the system may not intervene in a potential collision when the driver expects it to be active.
