The 2012 Land Rover Range Rover has 4 recalls, the most serious being a Takata passenger-side airbag inflator that can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, causing serious injury or death.
The airbag inflator issue affects vehicles depending on where they were originally sold or registered, with certain high-humidity regions covered under one filing and a broader set of states covered under another. Both describe the same underlying danger. On the braking side, one or both flexible front brake hoses can rupture and leak fluid, extending stopping distances and raising the risk of a crash. There is also a visibility concern: some windshields were not properly bonded during assembly and can come loose in a crash, leaving occupants exposed.
