The same shock absorber failure can also damage the rear axle half shafts, wheel speed sensors, and stabilizer bar end links, which together affect how power reaches the rear wheels, how the anti-lock braking system reads wheel movement, and how the suspension controls body roll during cornering. There is also a child safety concern: the tether anchor weld on the second-row left-side seat back frame may not be strong enough to hold a child seat during a crash, allowing the child seat to move forward and raising the risk of injury to a young passenger. The fourth recall involves the rearview camera software, which can produce a frozen or blank image when the driver shifts into reverse, reducing visibility of what is directly behind the vehicle.
