2024 LUCID AIR Recalls Canada & USA – Major League Recalls
2024 LUCID AIR Recalls — Canada & USA
Summary
The 2024 Lucid Air has 10 recalls, the most serious being two distinct drivetrain defects on Air Pure rear-wheel drive models: axle shaft bolts that may not be properly secured can allow the shaft to separate from the drive unit, and a rear wiring harness that may be too short can strain and disconnect, either of which causes a sudden loss of drive power.
A separate software defect affects all Air trims running certain older software versions: a fault can develop while adaptive cruise control is active, also cutting drive power without warning. On the visibility side, the high-voltage coolant heater can fail to defrost the windshield in cold conditions, leaving the driver with an obstructed view. Two rearview camera recalls cover different software versions: on vehicles with the AD02 package running certain newer software, the camera image may not appear at all when reversing, while vehicles on older software may show no image or a delayed, inaccurate one. Some recalls only affect Air Pure rear-wheel drive models, while others apply more broadly across the Air lineup.
Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Air vehicles equipped with Pure Rear-Wheel Drive. Improperly secured bolts may allow the half-shaft to disconnect from the drive unit.
Safety Risk
A disconnected half shaft can result in a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Lucid will remove and install new bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters are scheduled to be mailed May 22, 2026. Owners may contact Lucid at 1-888-995-8243. Lucid's number for this recall is SR-26-03-0. This recall is an expansion of previous NHTSA recall number 25V669.
On certain vehicles, the bolts securing the axle shafts to the drive unit may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the axle shaft(s) could separate from the drive unit and cause a sudden loss of power to the wheels.
Note: This recall is an expansion of Transport Canada recall no. 2025-535. This recall only affects certain Air Pure rear-wheel drive models.
Safety Risk
A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash.
