The 2025 Mazda CX-50 has 5 recalls, the most serious involving loose or improperly torqued suspension and steering fasteners that can allow wheels or suspension components to detach while driving, causing sudden loss of control.
Recalls 2 and 3 describe the same class of problem: wheel hub nuts, tie rod nuts, ball joint nuts, control link nuts, and axle bracket bolts may not have been tightened properly at the factory, and if they work loose, the driver can lose steering control or drive power entirely, or parts can separate from the vehicle. Hybrid models have an additional concern where the transmission shifter can be moved from Neutral to Drive without pressing the brake pedal, creating a risk of unexpected movement. On the safety systems side, a forward sensing camera malfunction can disable automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and automatic high-beam dimming. There is also an airbag software issue where the restraint control module may be incorrectly configured, causing airbags to deploy improperly in a crash.
