The roof panel concern appears in two related recalls. The adhesive bonding on the front roof panel, the section between the windshield and the panoramic sunroof, can fail and allow the panel to separate from the car entirely, creating a hazard for traffic behind. A second recall addresses the same panel on vehicles where a prior repair attempt did not fully resolve the bonding issue, meaning the panel can still detach even after service work. The driver airbag recall covers a separate risk: the airbag can inflate on its own without a crash, which can startle or injure the driver and cause loss of vehicle control. There is also a passenger seat occupant classification sensor issue on vehicles built within a narrow window in September 2014, where fuses in the system may lose electrical contact and cause the sensor to misread the front passenger seat, potentially affecting how or whether the passenger airbag deploys in a crash. Finally, a software fault in the emergency call system can cause it to transmit an incorrect date, time, and vehicle location to emergency responders, which could delay help from reaching the right place after an accident.
