The 2016 Mercedes-Benz AMG CLA45 has 6 recalls, the most serious involving an airbag that can deploy without warning and a dual-clutch transmission weld that can crack and cause sudden loss of drive power.
The roof structure has two related concerns: the adhesive bonding the front roof panel can deteriorate and allow the panel to detach while driving, and a prior repair attempt to address this issue may not have fully resolved it, leaving some vehicles still at risk of the panel coming loose and becoming a hazard to other traffic. On the engine side, a starting current limiter can overheat and melt the components around it, raising the risk of a fire. There is also a software issue with the emergency call system, where an incorrect date and time can cause the system to report the wrong vehicle location to emergency responders, potentially delaying their arrival.
