Both of these electrical issues can leave the car unable to accelerate, but the fuse failure carries an additional concern: beyond cutting drive power, a failed fuse can also knock out the airbags, seatbelt pretensioners, or the instrument cluster, stripping the driver of critical safety information and crash protection at the same time. The software error in the electric drivetrain is a separate problem that can cause the same sudden loss of drive power. There is also a structural concern specific to the roof frame: energy-absorbing pads inside the frame may not be properly secured and can break loose when the side curtain airbags deploy in a crash, sending loose pieces into the cabin where they can strike occupants.
