The 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLC63S has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the frontal airbag and seatbelt pretensioner system, both of which can fail to respond properly in a crash and leave occupants with less protection than expected.
Two of the recalls affect crash response directly: the front passenger airbag can deploy late for unbelted occupants, and the seatbelt pretensioners along with the pre-crash tensioning system may not activate at all during a collision. The third recall involves the passenger seat sensor, which can incorrectly show the passenger airbag as active when it is actually suppressed, meaning a front seat occupant may assume they have airbag protection when they do not.
