The 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLS63 has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the hydraulic brake system, where reduced braking performance raises the risk of a crash.
The other two recalls both involve the vehicle's automatic crash notification system, known as eCall, and describe related but distinct failure modes. In one case, the system can send incorrect location data after a collision, meaning emergency responders may be directed to the wrong place. In the other, the eCall system can become disabled entirely, preventing occupants from reaching an emergency services call center at all. Either way, the result is delayed emergency response after a crash. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue, which is why both remain open.
