2013 MERCEDES-BENZ B CLASS Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2013 Mercedes-Benz B Class has two recalls of equal seriousness, one affecting the power steering and one affecting the brakes, both of which can make the vehicle harder to control and increase the risk of a crash. On the steering side, the power steering control unit can corrode and let in moisture, causing it to fail. When that happens, the steering wheel becomes significantly heavier to turn, particularly at low speeds like parking lot maneuvers or slow turns. On the brake side, this recall only affects vehicles with the M270 gasoline engine: a connector in the vacuum line to the brake booster can crack and break, cutting vacuum pressure to the booster. Without that assist, the brake pedal requires noticeably more force to press and the vehicle takes longer to stop.
